A stitch in time
I finsihed this one today, the 27th before heading to Chestnut lane. Yay for finishing things! It kind of blows me away that I have been working on this one for this long. It really is a very simple stitch. Without further adieu..

I started a project last night so I would have something to stitch when Michele was here working. The lord's prayer is for her you see. Plus I had to stay up and wait for the kids that were spending the night actually went to sleep. I had a craptacular day because of them. I really do find most of my family despicable... But that's not the point. I stitched this evening out of pain and irritation. So on the bright side I think I got a lot done. =) This was a birthday gift from a fellow stitcher [info]ladyvidel.

28th-Feb-2007 05:50 am - Herbs & Spices {Updated}
A stitch in time
I am doing this with [info]chanda_m, [info]haniaw & Bonnie {C's friend} as a SAL {Stitch-A-long}. I am not sure how we are working the sharing portion of this as I have not even talked with the last two people before. I trust [info]chanda_m and know that we will figure it out. We officially pushed back the start of the SAL part until November.

The way we are doing it is that, since the theme is herbs and spices, each of us will take turns choosing an herb or spice. Then we will each find and make a recipe that contains that herb or spice. Then we will share the recipe and swap pictures. of our progress. I think that's how the sharing will go at least. =D So this one with cross over on from here to [info]lady_savant and [info]savants_kitchen.

I am an entire month behind on this one but I think it was worth the wait. I think it almost looked better without the back stitching though. I am also almost finished with the dill except I am missing a color which I am picking up today so I should be updating that today or tonight sometime. I plan on sending out the recipe for Rosemary bourbon almonds to the group. I will be posting it to [Bad username: savants_kictchen] at some point as well. If you would like it sooner rather then later just drop me a line.

8th-Nov-2006 02:31 pm - FlyLady cross stitch designs
Dragons
[info]chanda_m has been a really big help in making these. A really big thank you goes out to her for all her help. *HUGS* You can really see the progression of ideas and development.

I am not finished designing FlyLady cross stitch patterns by any means so if you have any ideas for more or some constructive criticism feel free to give me a shout. If you would like the pattern for any of these please send me an email at lady.savant.6669@gmail.com letting me know which number{s} you would like and I will get those to you hopefully by the next day. Oh and if you could let me know if you would like PDF or PC stitch format that would be very helpful.

Each is designed to be stitched on 14 ct Aida fabric, but they are very easy to convert to
even weave if you like that better. They are all two strands of floss over for both cross and back stitching.

These are computer generated pictures of the designs are under here. I resized them to make them more LJ friendly but they are still not tiny so be warned.

Here are the tiles i have been working on. Wow! Actual pics! LOL
Yes I do like constructive criticism.
I will just take us around the wheel of the year first.
I am thinking of stitching these all on white linen or an appropriate color for the season and to accentuate the colors present.

Each is design is 89x89 stitches on 14 ct Aida fabric. Two strands over for both cross and back stitching.

Now I have only done one design for my deities but it covers more then one of them. This is Bast, Bastet and Sekhmet. For me in short, Bast is the female equivalent to Pan taken from the satanic bible; Bastet is a protector of the innocent especially mothers and children; Sekhmet is of just retribution and vindication. {I am looking at the definitions of those two big words wondering if they mean the same thing.} Yes I understand that justice and what meets appropriate reward/punishment is a tricky subject on good days. Could be why I like the idea of someone smarter then myself thinking and acting on that.

Anyway! Here is the design. It looks REALLY bright to me but I like it.

4th-Oct-2006 01:55 am - The lord's prayer cross stitch
A stitch in time
I started my new Big project yesterday evening. I put in 201 stitches before going to bed. This was after spending over two hours gridding on two separate nights just to rip it all out and just mark the upper left hand corner of the pattern instead.

If you rely on gridlines for stitching this pattern it will drive you nuts. Check this out. Read more... )

5th-Apr-2006 02:58 pm - My weekly update for MSL1 at [info]cross_stitch hosted by [info]litlaskvis
A stitch in time
It began february 15th 2006. We receive our next color every Wednesday morning. It is lots of fun. Originally I had mine in the largest scroll frame but I realized that I will be needing that for my next project which is 4 pages long. So I am now doing it by hand. I also realized I was going to run out of ink if I printed it out every week so now I just stitch it at the computer in hand. It came out lovely so far. This is also my first try and griding and I don't think I will ever do without it again.

Stats
110x110 stitches
on 14ct bright white Aida
stitched with 2 strands of DMC floss

9th-Mar-2006 07:47 pm - Pooh and friends afghan ~ Finished
A stitch in time
I decided that I wanted to do something special for my friends Michele's grandson Robert. He has been born for months now and it has been touch and go with his health. They knew that he would be born with a hole in his heart. Luckily the Stitching Olympics over at [info]cross_stitch hosted by my friend [info]chanda_m helped me to get quite a bit of it done quickly.

3rd-Mar-2006 02:37 pm - Tiny candle for my first swap at [info]tiny_arts
A stitch in time
This one was destined for [info]memoryanddream from it's inception. I designed it on PC stitch. It is stitched with DMC floss and I changed the flame from crosses to long stitch in the mid stride. This design also bore another much bigger project for my Candlemas altar which will come later.

The stats
14ct bright white Aida
2 strand for crosses and long stitches
1 strand for back stitching
The blue is half stitches
Finished size: 2.5x3.5 inches

3rd-Mar-2006 02:28 pm - A Purrr-fect pair
A stitch in time
This was my Valentine's day gift to my honey Brian. I hid it int he room so I could surprise him with it first thing when we woke up. *MG* He loves it too. Here's some funny for you. Brian helped me trim the laminated copy of the pattern in December. Brian helped me choose the eye color for the right {As you are looking at it} cat, which is the only change I made. Successfully making them into us. The funny is that he never suspected a thing. =) Yeah' I'm that good. LOL
